Actually, the course should come at you significantly faster in the FSAE car. You'll have to look ahead sooner and get your mind faster to catch up to it. It will help that the FSAE car reacts faster (mainly because it has a lot less weight to transfer).

Stiffer bars are more sensitive to bumps and other pavement irregularities. That may be causing your loose condition in the one corner. They are also more sensitive to sudden control movements. Are you getting on the gas or off the brake smooth enough? An LSD would help, I think. Open diffs do not like stiff rear bars (for a RWD car).
