It would have been fun to come out and visit with you, Rick. I'm not really the big city type. Way too crowded. But it was fun. We got to see a couple of Broadway shows, and Letterman, and explored a couple of museums, Chinatown, Little Italy, and Central Park. But mostly we were there to watch my daughter and friends dance. There are some amazingly talented kids and brilliant choreographers at these competitions.

We were in the city from Thursday until just last night. Home again now. The drive down was fine, arriving downtown with hardly any traffic. We thought we'd park at the hotel for just one night, so we could unload all the gear from the car. But then we found out what it would cost to park there!!! Not to mention the hotel parking was already full. So Christoph and I went back to plan-A and he navigated me all the way back out to Newark airport so we could leave the car there for just $10/day. Took the train back to town.

My daughter did her last dance just after noon yesterday, so about 1pm Christoph and I hopped back on the train to retrieve the car. Got to the airport shortly thereafter, and had to twiddle our thumbs for an hour and half while waiting for the shuttle bus to take us out to the off-airport parking site (park2go.com). Then drive the car back into town, stuck in rush hour, pick up the girls, get the hell outta town, stuck in rush hour again... It was 6pm before we finally escaped. Only got back to Ottawa at 2am. Sheesh.
