Subject: I'm going to set up a new site

OK, everyone, I'm going to do this. Not that I couldn't sit around here and discuss this indefinitely, but I've got a mostly free weekend coming up, and it's too cold for yard work, there's nothing I need to do on the cars, and there's not enough snow for skiing, so here's what I propose I do.

I'm going to sign up with the web hosting service bluehost.com. I've just been through this with another site I use (and used to manage -- the Sports Car Club of Vermont). Our old hosting service was getting hacked too much, so we've switched to Bluehost, and so far it has been good. The cost is US$7/month. I'll pay for the signup and then work out some way where people who are so inclined can reimburse me.

I'll work to get something together this weekend. I know we can't use the BEN name (bummer), but maybe as a group we can come up with something better.

I propose to use the same forum software as BEN, namely Phorum. Most other forum sites these days seem to use phpBB or vBulletin, but Phorum is known as a good, solid product and is in some ways better than those. Once I get the initial site set up, we can discuss how we want it to look. (BTW, I'm a UNIX sysadmin at work and know how to do this.)

Please let me know if I'm missing anything.
