You do say it is getting deeper, but do not say it has no bottom. In the "and making the quicksand pit wider so that your plants can't get a grip any where to grow and push you up from.", that all goes with the wider part, not the deeper. I presumed, correctly from your words that I quoted exactly, that you meant push up from the walls of the quicksand. How was I to know you meant differently, as I am not a telepath. The "can't get a grip any where to grow and push you up from" goes together, you didn't seperate it any way, you made it a list with that "and".
If I did not read it clearly, it was because you did not type it clearly.
