I can give detailed instructions on how to start your own Voy Forum. This is being demonstrated on additional threads, here on Voy/229901.
But, you can quickly get started just by following a few basic instructions.
1) Choose a background color.
-when you log-in and go to Voy's Forum Administration menu,
-go past General User Options, to Advanced.
-Click into New Options: Display settings.
-scroll down 7 lines to "BACKGROUND COLOR".
-choose any 6 digit color#, such as "#EEE4EF"
-here's a webpage http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colormixer.asp?colorbottom=D8BFD8&colortop=FFFFFF
-this will help you choose any background color desired.
(Voy's basic options red,green,blue,yellow, etc are not attractive).
You might want to generate a moderate image, such as light blue. (#D9F2FF)

2) Set your "forum index" to COMPACT.
while setting reply format to VERBOSE.
-this will create the least cluster on the forum,
while allowing responses to be read easily.
*Don't choose verbose index, or compact reply format.
-If you chose compact reply format,
it would force readers to individually click each comment.
-If you chose verbose Forum index,
all comments would be clustered throughout the page.

3) choose a basic title and description for your forum.
-on the top line, I wrote "How to create your own forum".
This title should appear in the search engines.
-four options down, where it says "FORUM TITLE",
I wrote "Create Your Own Voy Forum".
This appears on the browser tab, NOT in the forum.
It's more useful, if you decided to bookmark this page.
-for URL to Header Image: I chose a kitten and puppy.
-scroll down a few lines in General settings,
and it asks for MAIN PAGE DESCRIPTION.
I wrote "Lessons for Beginners"
This message will appear just below the Icon picture.
(just below the cat and the dog)
(I would recommend keeping this description brief.)
-for HEADER,
just remember to input anytime you wish
to start a new paragraph {<}Pee{>}.
LEAVE OUT THE letters ee, and remove the {} {} in the above sequence .
I cannot do this correctly, or the HTML code will disappear.
On similar terms:
I would recommend inputting to continue your sentence on the next line.
Once again, the code doesn't have the ee.
Another important html code is &nbeesp;
This allows spaces between sentences.
IT might require several &nbeeeesp; lines, in order to achieve desired effect.
&nbeesp;&nbeesp;&nbeesp;&nbeesp;&nbeesp;
Of course, remove all the letters eeee.
BUT KEEP the [&] prefix, and [;] suffix in the code.
So, it's just [&]- [n]- [b]- [s]- [p]- [;]-
CHANGING PARAGRAPH IS -< p- >-
Breaking lines is -<- br- >-
Of course, leave out All the [-] in all codes.
There are many many HTML codes, but these are the basics.
You can make ♥ ♠ ♣ ♦
and, much much more.
Do you notice how the HTML disappeared?
my codes were: &heartz; &spadez; &clubz; &diamz;
(replace the Z with S)
Now, just for examples,
I will list my choices for SEARCH ENGINE INFORMATION.
-when it asks for 10 keywords,
I chose
Voy, Voy forums, Create, make, build, CSS, HTML,
-when they asked for META KEYWORDS,
I chose:
Voy, Voy forums, Google, Bing, Yahoo, Create, Learn, CSS, HTML, Topix,
-When they asked for META DESCRIPTION,
I chose
Finally, you can create your own Voy forum easily. This will guide you, step by step. For beginners or advanced users.

4) IF you wish to input a header image,
Just go to Forum Settings: Basic Options,
and go to URL to header image.
I chose the kitten and puppy.
Please remember to choose the thumbnail image.
For example: a blogger image will have an HTML code.
If you chose the first sequence,
it would create an enormous picture. That's no good.
Instead, choose the smaller. Of course.
Your picture should have a .jpg ending. (or, .png, .gif. etc.)

5) IF you wish to add a simple URL to background image,
or, something more fancy. It's up to you.
The background image will repeat itself.
Here's one example:

here's a simple rose, which would repeat itself:

In other words,
the background DOESN'T NEED TO BE Extravagant.

6- I also strongly recommend that you UNCHECK
"REPLY BOX: QUOTE ORIGINAL MESSAGE.
This option appears in Advanced user options, display settings,
ENABLE/DISABLE DISPLAY FEATURES.
scroll down 4 options, to Reply box: Quote Original.
This will eliminate the initial comment from reappearing
on Every additional comment.

7- while you're still in Advanced, General, display settings,
scroll past "page design",
to MESSAGE LISTING FORMAT AND STYLE
Forum index format is COMPACT
Reply Format is VERBOSE.
STYLE is TABLE 1. I recommend Table 1, over Text 1.
This will encase your threads inside a graphic box.

8- scroll down to DISPLAY HR LINE BETWEEN THREADS.
If your forum is popular, you might want to use this feature.
It allows a spacer in between threads.
It's now easier to decipher one thread from another.
After these basic steps, all else is secondary.
So, the basics have already been accomplished.
and, even if you remain beginner,
your forum should still look and perform Great!!!!
