I've got the feel
of that soft
green shirt
drifting in my mind
words print putting
you further away
the sunlit trees
and motions held in
check
the smells
the smiles
advancing in a line
like soldiers
to my heart
who would think
or understand
the effect
you have on me
beside you
not better
that's where
I want to be
sunlit trees
and fleeting moments
shimmer in cool shade
to be dealt an
unfortunate hand
like cards that crumble
in our own path
destined
to walk alone
