Subject: Great Artwork

I'd like to start a thread dedicated to all the great European Artwork.
There are several ways of presenting this.

1) Either embedding photographs onto the thread.
2) or, post the name of a great artist.
3) more specifically, post the name of the artwork.
4) the best way to present famous artwork is by linking to entire collections of painting.
Obviously, these can be found on websites.
5) Or,it might even be a better idea to create your own blog displaying favorite paintings.

Here are a few quick examples of how this can be done.
I've already located a great thread which displays fantastic artwork.

Here's another quick thread showing great Kissing pictures.

The only drawback to direct linking is the possibility of having broken links.
This is why personal blogs can be great.

As for artists and famous paintings ????
there are too many to name.
BUT, we shall still try.

There are two different paintings seemingly with the same name.

Of course, you should save all data, paintings, pictures, and blogs...
just in case they ever get removed by Trouble Makers.

So, I give the link; along with Artist and Title.
Just in case the link ever gets broken.

If you think there's too many examples to mention,
we could try focusing on those which are relevant to our cause.

This would include any paintings which celebrate women, family, children, or loving relationships.

Of course, Wikipedia is also a great source.
I just learned why there were variations of the sleeping Venus painting.

(notice all the variations)

Also, there's more to this compilation than great old Artists.
Do you remember those great magazine covers, as well?

comment from Rockwell center:
On this day, July 27, 1877, illustrator Harrison Fisher was born in Brooklyn, New York. Fisher was known for his illustrations of beautiful women. Indeed he was considered a successor of Charles Dana Gibson. Each famous illustrator of women around the turn of the century specialized in a type of woman and they became known as the Chambers Girl, the Gibson Girl, the Fisher girl, and the Christy Girl.

here's one example of the Christy Girl artwork.
this type of material may also be inclusive to our list.

If you can't log into facebook, simply google search the keywords.

Some are fantastic. #8,10, 14,15,16
