I wanted to wait until you were back Tami, before posting this AWESOME news!!! Mark sent me the link on Oct. 31 about LB being inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Western Canadian Music Awards (THANKS MARK!!!!). Since receiving the link, I noticed that the official site also mentions it. The following is an excerpt taken from the article that Mark e-mailed to me:
The West honours it's leading musicians

"The show went back to the '80's to honour this year's hall of fame inductee, Loverboy. The band burst on to the world stage in 1980 and quickly became one of America's and MTV's most popular rock bands.
By 1987, Loverboy had achieved multi platinum status four times, and international gold status many times over.
Driven by the powerful vocals of Mike Reno, the relentless rock groove of lead guitarist Paul Dean, bassist Scott Smith, keyboardist Doug Johnson and drummer Matt Frenette, Loverboy built its reputation on-stage, bringing the energy from their radio hits to coliseum-rousing excitement.
After 25 years together, Loverboy hit the stage of the Western Canadian Music Awards to celebrate."
CONGRATULATIONS MIKE, PAUL, MATT, DOUG, SPIDER AND OF COURSE IN MEMORY OF SCOTT!!!!
You guys really deserve the recognition of not only the Western Canadian Music Awards, but of Canada's Walk of Fame as well as the Juno's Canadian Music Hall of Fame. As far as I'm concerned and I'm sure many, many other fans are concerned, The Walk and CARAS sure could take a page out of the Western Canadian Music Awards book and have Loverboy inducted into each as well!!! Hopefully....they will.....and hopefully, it will happen very soon too!
Congratulations again, guys! Way to go!!!!
