Excuse you for coming in here and thinking we would change anything we do. We like reading these books, and they are NOT trash. They are just fiction, and people do these online activities out of boredom and lack of anything better to do. And I am sorry that we all can't be perfect little Christians, but hey, you know, this ISN'T a religious board, nor will it be. There are some people out there who are on of the Jewish, Islamic, Hinduism et cetera, who find this message VERY offensive. Now, redwall is NOT trash. It is FICTION that we read. That means it is NOT TRUE and it is MADE UP. Also known as FANTASY. And the whole purpose of this board is to give us some sort of activity. And would you rather have your child roleplaying like he was an animal, standing up for his beliefs, or checking out porn sites? Frankly, I'd rather have him roleplaying. It is just like how you used to pretend you were a princess or prince, and how your life would end happily ever after. But that isn't true now is it? It's fiction. Fantasy.
It is OUR choice whether we come here or not. It isn't trash, and it doesn't necessarily effect our lives. It is a creative activity that increases a child's writing ability. I, myself, am a writer and actress. I've written several books, and one is about to be published sometime in the next year. And also, I happen to be a straight "A" student, who participates in sports, and who is on a spirit team. I have been in several plays as either the lead role or one of the main characters. And you know what helped me? By reading so many different characters in books (Redwall especially) and how they reacted. How they talked, how their facial actions were, how their prime reactions were. That shows that I am not obsessive of Redwall, and most people aren't. That also shows that Redwall, reading, and other fictional books did broaden my horizons.
This Redwall "trash" enlightens me to read, and inspires me to write. This Redwall "trash" teaches me a bit about the science of biology, zoology, and ecology. This Redwall "trash" also teaches me new vocabulary words, English, and other writing skills. This Redwall "trash" is actually very helpful. And online, it lets you express yourself, and learn to overcome the fear of standing up for yourself as well as other fears. It teaches you to interact with others and work as a group. It teaches you to write better and with description. It helps you tremendously in English, Drama, Speech, and Reading. Therefore, this Redwall "trash" is very useful, educational, and helps your child tremendously.
