The sun's benevolent rays transformed the gilded edges of the azure dragon's scales into golden fire, reflecting off the metallic plates in glaring spots of light. The effect was dazzling, especially when the male was in motion, like now. Sturdy limbs carried him easily over the shifting sands, his calloused paws unbothered by the heat of the baked grains. Fluorescent green eyes glared from beneath a crested brow, adorned with golden horns that swept back from his forehead. A serpentine tail flicked idly in his wake as if tormented by the tortuous heat. His immense wings remained tightly furled during his approach, tucked safely against his muscular sides. The dragon uttered no words, merely nodded a rather curt greeting to the other of his gender and species.
