This book talks about the Nashuas (indians)finding a river so clean and clear that they named it "the river with the pebbled bottom".they only used what they needed and years later a man with a pale face came and the Nashua welcomed him. They welcomed him because he came with kettles, cloth, pots and tools and other goods also. Years later the pale faced men took the land from the Nashua people. They poluted the river with the pebbled bottom until it was filled with pulp and dye and all sorts of chemicals. Then one night two nashuas had the same dream that their old cheif "Chief Weewa" saw the river and his tears made the river clean once again. So then Marion and Oiveana (the indians that had the dream) went to the people to help so they wenyt on potition and then once again the river was clean.
