"USe a spoon you uncouth wolf!" She tells him, glaring reproachfully.

"Yeah Da, really use a spoon! Do ya see how e's been bringing me up miss Goldlen? Not very proper, eh?" As he speaks his paw flashes over the bowl and whips two cherries off the top of the trifle.

"Ahh should say so mistah Basilio! You bettah git before ya's sorree dat ye swiped me cherries!" She raises her wooden spoon warningly at the young critter. The smile that had been on the hare's face a moment before disappears as he hurriedly leaves the kitchen, with his adoptive father's hearty laugh following after him.
