reels back as Shale slashes, successfully avoiding his scimitar. As Shale thrusts upwards, Fergath punches down with his basket-hilt to knock away Shale's sword, but since Shale was almost at point blank range, the scimitar's blade runs along Fergath's side cutting just through the skin. He then swings his sword down and sideways at Shale's head, hoping that even if Shale does duck, his sword will strike Shale's back.

As Shale charges forward, Fergath makes a broad sweep in front of him to counter both scimitar and dagger, however Shale's body slams into Fergath sending them both crashing to the ground. Fergath stays close enough to Shale so that swords cannot be used, but still cautious of Shale's dagger. (ooc: Any news for an ambush at Oak Cavern on the ft. Moonlight beasts?)

(ooc:we'll see!) BIC: Allowing the scimitar to keep travelling, Fergath then swings his arm in, down then up, causing Shale's sword to overstab Fergath. This also causes Shale's dagger to (again) swish through the air. Fergath then takes this oppurtunity to charge Shale while his sword is in no position to defend Shale. The ferret slams the whole of his weight against Shale (not worrying about the dagger, for it is in Shale's hand, which attached to Shale's arm, which is now crossed across Shale's body (ooc: sorry about this sentence!). Then he attempts to stab under Shale's chin with his dirk. (ooc: You know, this fight will have no real political signifigance, since the battle is pretty much over with and the prize has already been claimed. Also, you're ot from Wrathaven. Why defend it when nobeast from Wrathaven is defending it? And, uh...do you think you could get the club you ARE from and any other vermin clubs to attack fort Moonlight? Crouches down and rolls behind the tree so the scimitar strikes against the tree and the dagger finds othing but air. Then the ferret ,before Shale can get back into a fighting stance, comes up on the other side of the tree with his dirk pointed at Shale's throat, "Move an' thou art dead!" (ooc:sorry, I just really wanted to say that! You don't think that was too much auto-hitting do you? I tried stuff like that before and I was accused of auto-hitting. Since Fergath is jerking his head (to rip a chiunk of flesh from Shale's leg, the dagger goes off target, so rather than striking te base of Fergath's skull, it punctures through his ear, which causes him to draw back out of range from an immediate attack from Shale (doing this, but not forgetting to pull out his dirk and to make one last rip at Shale's leg). The ferret then places his back against a tree trunk (for defense purposes and to keep the ferret from falling down. Fergath then raises his dirk and prepares for combat again.

Uses his arm to force the scimitar over his shoulder and into the ground (but getting his arm cut). Fergath then twists to avoid the dagger, but it being tooo close pierces just through the side skin on his stomach, the extra pain causing Fergath to go mad. Then the ferret draws his dirk and sits bolt up and thrusting his dirk at Shale's gut, he then bits savagely at Shale's lower leg!

Using wits and allowing ancient instincts to take over, Fergath draws back, witch causes the scimitar to be drawn out, he then twists his leg so the knife hits a hard surface of bone, rather then important muscles. Casting aside his broadsword (for it is no use at close-quarters), he grabs Shale's sword paw and yabks it towards him, turning Shale sideways, the ferret then thrusts his sgian dubh swiftly forwards at Shale's ribs.

Shale's dagger digs itself deep into the leather covering of his targe. Fergath thinking quickly casts away his targe (with Shales dagger in it). He then moves his leg towards the hilt of shale's sword to reduce the force of impact, but it doesn't stop the full force and blood begins to stream down fergaths leg. Fergath then slides (not swings) his blade up and across Shale's face. The ferret then draws his sgian dubh (a small knife with about a 3 inch blade) from his stocking and rams it down upon Shale's back.

The two squirrels travel through the trees until they come to wrathaven's outer walls. Then chidd throws a rope and hook over the battlements and begins to climb. Dannikin runs through the rubble of the burned gate, which Drumdin (or something) the squirrel tribe chief burned down a while ago. Dannikin then runs up te stairs leading to the wall-tops and pulls out a short pole and a flag from his sack and sets up the flag. Chidd then shouts,"we have captured the gate!" Both squirrels then raise their bow and notch arrows, ready to shoot at anybeast who tries to climb the steps.
