Your best information about them is that they are set up to receive money, and they profess expertise in misleading people and machines. Certainly, then, you should be ready to send money. It makes sense to deal with people who proclaim their dishonesty.
One disadvantage faced by brick-and-mortar enterprises was that they had to be reliable. They lived in the town and needed repeat customers. Even those guys hanging out near the school yard peddling dodgy substances faced some of that pressure. The modern internet solves that problem because there is a near-infinite pool of one-time customers. Even if you are not happy, someone else will come along. That explains the Roca Labs business model.
