Subject: handicomp, a very interesting service

The deep throat and not deap throat threads on the usga's discussion group brought out how the usga won a court ruling this last spring with regards to anti-trust and the handicap system. The usga has a press release about it. In addition, a company Handicomp, Inc. (www.handi.com) which had taken the usga to court and lost is currently appealing that decision - I think the judge was getting a favorable handicap index from ghin.

Anyways, Handicomp touches on this topic in their June '99 HandiNews newsletter which you might want to catch (http://www.handi.com/Newsletters/1999%20Jun.htm).

And, they have a great product - too bad the golf associations are to shy, intimidated or whatever to be willing to go with someone else other than ghin.
