That's Checks, you deaf and blind moron. At least Anguirus has the decency to call me that, instead of with that darn "x."

But are we better for it?

No way. It was at that point where the Constitution was left in the mud, and leads us to where we are today as a nation.

Yes, that was his purpose. But you know what? In that purpose of keeping the Union together, he trampled on the rights and freedom of all those in the Union and/or Confederacy.

A better question is: Why did he want to keep the Union together? (Money.)

Maybe we are. I am not denying that.

GOOD POINT ALIHJA!! The United States of America broke away from Britain to be there own people because they felt that they were being abused. In essence: THEY SECEEDED!!

THAT IS WHAT THE SOUTH DID!! EXACTLY!!

So why is it wrong for the South?

Actually, it wasn't a civil war. A civil war is where two sides are fighting for control of the goverment. THE SOUTH WAS NOT FIGHTING FOR CONTROL OF THE UNION. THEY WERE FIGHTING TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM THE NORTH'S TAKING OVER THEIR FREEDOM.

Over 620,000 men

Good idea!

Yup. This confirms it.
