Subject: I think we missed that last TARDIS...

Endeventh fairly crumples in her landing on the giving sand of the beach, her finely shaped head drooping in deep exhaustion. Clambering down from the saftey straps, her wind-rattled rider is little better, grime streaks the young woman's face and her eyes water as she hauls herself upright long enough to remove the harness. "We made it, love" she murmurs thickly to the green before sinking to the ground and curling in the sunwarmed sand, glad to have a place to rest at last. Endeventh doesn't even answer, but instead positions herself protectively near her weary rider, her own eyes closing in sleep.

The pair don't wake for quite a few hours, their days-long journey over the sea having sapped all strength reserves. When Veerai finally does wake, it is in the chilly confusion of being wrenched from her dreams. There are dragons calling! She hadn't truly believed Endeventh about their landing site being on the weyr proper, but had been too dangerously close to sleep to continue flying or arguing. Now she rises unsteadily to her feet, brushing the sand from her riding gear and the sleep from her eyes. Endeventh, still rumbling and adorable in her rest, doesn't budge. Veerai feels a sudden streak of boldness and decides to go exploring a little bit before waking her dragon.

Her boots give under the soft, almost silky sand as she meanders along the shoreline, looking for any sign of human or dragon habitation. She had heard the calls, but it could have been merely her imagination. Then a familiar shadow formation darkens her vision for a moment and she raises her eyes in delight at the blue dragon and rider that go soaring overhead, flanked by a green and another blue. Fairly clapping her hands, she does a small dance of joy as she marks the way they were flying inland. If Endeventh were awake, she could probably bespeak the dragons, but it was no matter, there was real evidence that there were in fact dragons and that she and hers had found a home once again. Continuing her explorations with ease, another type of habitation brings a pleased grin to her face. A flitter mother, and from the looks of it, human tracks in the sand around the nest. Oh, the relief those tracks flooded through her body! Maybe, if she was careful, she might be able to obtain a flit of her own. Throughout her training, she had seen fellow weyrlings with the charming little fire lizards perched on hands or arms, but she had never demystified their origins. Endeventh had seemed taken with them as well, Veerai had no worries there. She approaches the nest quietly, unsure how to proceed. Her companions had always spoken plainly to their flits, so she figured it was a safe bet that this one understood human speech. And if not, well, talking calm never hurt anyone or anything.

"Hello, there, I was just admiring you and noticed you had eggs and...well...I was wondering if I might be able to acquire one. My green dragon is asleep over there, but she's fine with eggs..." unsure as to wether this would work, Veerai decides to sit crosslegged a few feet from the nest and remain quiet. Whatever would happen would happen, she supposes.
