I am the person who plays Wyvern’s character, and the one who suggested the “renegades.” Here is my hopefull storyline for the main character, Bassilisk. If you don’t like it or don’t think it appropriate, you’re welcome to scrap it. Here Goes!
Bassilisk was one of the first of the new dragonriders, when they were still inexperienced in fighting Thread. He and his dragon, a large blue, popped out of between, right into the path of the Wingleader and his mount, and Bassilisk’s blue accidentally got burnt, causing Bassilisk to crash into the sea. Bassilsisk and his mount were very closely bonded, and when the blue died, something strange happened. Instead of going insane, and suiciding into between, Bassilisk and his mount underwent a merging of their minds and souls, giving Bassilisk a very unique mental outlook. Bassilisk is now determined to stand for dragons, but not necessarily their riders, as he still feels bitter over the accident. Bassilisk can go between, but cannot Time it. He can vaguely feel the emotions of other dragons and flits, but cannot talk to them directly. I know this seems like too much power, and I know you don’t like P.P.ing, but I think this might bring an interesting new story to Pern, and I still am determined not to bring death and violence into Pern.
Even if you scrap the above, the ‘renegade’ group; or The Wings of the Dragon,as we call it, needs a home. If you don’t want to (or can’t) create a section for this similar to the Hold sections, TWD can always meet in a Kitchen or some other non-frequented area of a Lordless Hold, which normally no-one visits.We are currently meeting in Crom Hold. I love the world of Pern, and am merely trying to expand its horizons.
