I was just re-reading All the Weyrs of Pern, and I'm just wondering: what happened to the second stage of A.I.V.A.S.'s plan? To get rid of Thread, it not only knocked the Red Star into a different orbit, but got Sharra and the other biologists to engineer a predatory organism, which Jaxom and the other dragons seeded on the Red Star. The organisms were supposed to spread throughout the Oort cloud, resulting in the destruction of all Thread. I don't mean to be disruptive or anything; I'm simply curious.
