Subject: (If you wish to move the thread up here to avoid my previous post'o'doom ^_^;;)

The unforgiving grasp of the Sands draws Kuorisse out of her shock, and she gingerly draws her feet up one at a time, wincing slightly at the imaginary flames that seared the pads of her feet. Unfortunately, even with this protective motion, her loose sandals allow thousands of the golden grains to cascade in over her toes and settle in the high arch of each throbbing, reddened foot. Sea-green eyes close for a moment, and she reminds herself where she is, and what she has to do, willing away the pain with her personal resolve. She would accomplish what the singers of tradition had taught her, starting her journey by giving the appropriate respect to those who required it. Whatever happened after that would be determined by a living miracle.

Turning towards the great golden Shrineth she takes a few unpresumptuous steps forward, then bows deeply at the waist and returns to where she was, respecting the reddish fire in ovoid eyes that spoke caution to any being with sense. Gently lifting her hand to tuck drying black curls behind her ears, (and in the motion recognizing, with some distaste, the regularity with which she did this) she raises her face to scan the crowd for the Weyrleaders and finds a man who could possibly be the one she sought. She blinks at him a moment, for some inexplicable reason almost surprised with the way he looked, perhaps it was the expression on his face? Kuori shifts her gaze to follow his own, focusing in on a strong-looking woman who could be none other than the Weyrwoman. It is then that she spies the growing group of people huddled around two young girls who had fallen on the sands, Kuorisse squints slightly, then recognizes them as the two who had been pushed aside by the green who had hatched earlier. From her distant viewpoint, she hadn’t realized their injuries had been so severe!

Her feet carry her over to them before she can think anything of it, and she settles herself a few feet away, acknowledging the knots on the Journeywoman’s shoulder with her silence and space. However, Kuorisse tilts her head towards Sahira, gaze catching the dark stain that seeps through the shirt binding the wounds on her arm. Perhaps here she could be of aid?

She does not, however, want to interrupt if everything is under control. Therefore she directs her query to neither the Weyrwoman nor the Healer in particular, thus allowing whoever could speak without breaking concentration to answer, “I’m Kuori, daughter of Master Healer Nicas. With what he’s taught me and a few borrowed supplies, I can clean, medicate, and stitch up her arm.” Kuori smiles warmly at Sahira to try to soften her matter-of-fact voice.
