Brath burped loudly, in what should have drawwn D'van's attention to the fact that his bucket was empty, and he was still hungry. It didn't; his rider still stood as if locked in that position for all time.
D'van? D'van! I'm still hungry, here!

Then find another bucket. I haven't seen Danny in almost three Turns.

It's not that simple.
Of course, D'van would be EXTREMELY happy if he never had to let go of his Danny again. For now, he was content to hold her, and hold her close. If only it hadn't been for her brother, they might not have had to separate. Daniel had been opposed to their relationship from the first, and had made sure to get his twin to the Weyr right away, leaving Davan at Bitra. With his father.
