"Thank you, bronzerider," K'vren says gratefully, turning to Notusith. /You heard him, right?/ he asks his dragon worriedly. Hakath had never seemed so uncomfortable about his firestone ash. Not for the first time during weyrling lessons, the young man's smug security in his own dragon knowledge is being slightly eroded. What's standard for his father's old bronze, after all, does not always hold true for a weyrling blue, and there are so many things about young dragons that K'vren has never had to deal with before.

I heard. Notusith waddles towards the pit, his gait as uncomfortable as his expression. He replies to Kierth's assurance with a wordless rush of gratitude and relief, but the feeling in his stomach is more urgent, and he is happy to make the pit before he explodes on the spot or something similarly unpleasant. His eyes unfocus, his head dips, and he regurgitates a neat pile of damp, steaming ash into the pit. When he looks up again and turns to trot back towards K'vren and the new teacher, he's moving much more freely, and his eyes are closer to blue-green. That wasn't so bad, he tells his rider. Kierth said it wouldn't last. Can we flame again?

/What about the rest of the lesson?/ K'vren laughs, and rubs Notusith's navy neck affectionately before giving B'nederra an expectant look. The blue weyrling, too, looks expectant as he turns his eyes on the much older bronze - and excited.
