"To be honest with you, T'gan..." The former Weyrwoman's voice is quiet and reflective, though not exactly sad, "...I hadn't expected that many to remember us. I hadn't... really expected many to be happy at all to see us." A gentle smile crosses her well-tanned face fleetingly, softening features hardened by years of work and devastation. "And... I have hopes that many survived the storm. Some may have been too injured to attempt travel for quite some time, and others may have chosen to not return to the Weyr for reasons of their own. I do not think that all the riders in New Isle are all the riders of Pern."

However, keen blue-grey eyes turn to R'jari as the bronzerider seems to fall silent and stiff, and one strong hand reaches out to squeeze the youth's lean shoulder, the gesture discreet and mostly unnoticed. At the news of a green clutch, S'sha keeps the emotions out of her face and eyes, trying to make the accidentally momentous task that she'd placed upon R'jari's shoulders a little easier, now that she realizes that the boy is far from used to the business-like manner she takes with all riders. You are still accustomed to running a Weyr, no matter the size of the Weyr, Kylith's almost steely voice remarks. Do not feel bad for taking charge when it is all you've ever done, all you know to do. But the queenrider doesn't answer her lifemate, eyes never stirring from R'jari's pale face. "Heading to the Lower Caverns sounds like a good idea," she agrees, watching Kain stride off out of the corner of her eye, slightly amused at the dark woman's reaction to getting two hugs in one day. Her hand slides off R'jari's shoulder as she straightens, feeling the lancing pain of exhaustion stab through her back muscles. "Sitting down is appealing right now," she adds in a lighter tone, summoning up a grin to ease the hectic atmosphere. The ex-leader glances over at A'rak, laughing aloud at how hard he tries to sound courteous and formal. "Come, A'rak, join us in the Caverns. You can fetch us some klah and some wine, if you have any that isn't tart. I think we could all use a glass." The tall woman then turns and begins a steady but light pace towards the Caverns, listening to aching muscles protest at every seemingly-jolting step. 'Kylith,' she murmurs, catching her broody queen's attentions.

Yes?
'Please be more understanding towards the other riders and their dragons. I know you are upset at the thought of being junior queen to anyone, let alone your own daughter, but do not take that out on those glad to see us alive. Remember, we hadn't thought they'd be happy to see us at all.'
I am not taking it out on them.
'Ky...'
I almost didn't want to return. You knew that. I didn't want to see us forced to the rank of weyrlings because of our absence.
'I recall Weyrleaders being absent and being very forcefully removed of rank, love.'
You always had bad luck with weyrmates.
'And who chose their bronzes in flight, eh, love?'
...
'I just ask that you be gentler, especially with the younger dragons. As a queen, you must set an example, and your being broody will upset the entire Weyr dragon-by-dragon.'
...fine. I will behave and keep my moods to myself.
'Thank you, love.'

A faint smile crosses her lips as S'sha leaves the Perches... one step at a time.
