((Actually, I was just figuring that we'd say twilight had fallen - I only wanted to be sure. I get a little obsessive about scene-settings. =^^;;=))

Something in the way Martan hesitates tells Liandro that his seemingly innocent question probably shouldn't have been asked. But he's distracted by the two men approaching, one carrying an odd little creature that looks sort of like a tiny, hideous dragon. The young man frowns for a moment, wondering what it might be, before the blue-clothed man's introductions clarify the matter. A watchwher? I've never seen one that young before. Not that he's seen many older ones, either; he only vaguely remembers a few glimpses of the watchwher at his old hold, long enough ago that he can't even remember what color it had been. His gaze swings back to Martan when the man replies, and Liandro winces in embarassment when his question is answered. He hadn't meant to prod old wounds. Deciding that for the moment, discretion is the better part of valor, he falls silent.

Peering with open curiousity at the two newcomers, Marja listens with eager ears. Less easily embarassed than Liandro, the Healer feels sorry for the men, but can't hide her interest. They've probably had enough pity, anyway, she sighs to herself, knowing from experience that too much of that emotion tends to sour a patient. It's not their riderless state that interests her, anyway, as much as the men themselves, not to mention the little watchwher in Ralyn's arms. "Pleased to meet you," she greets them cheerfully, ducking out from under Liandro's arm. "Are you going our way? If you are, maybe you could help Liandro here, he's hurt his ribs." She prods the chocolate-skinned boy cheerfully in the shoulder.
