I had a babysitter until I was 16. Now, 15 years later and a father myself, I think my parents made the right call. At the time I was hardly responsible enough to look after myself, let alone after my two younger sisters. My regular sitter was a girl from the neighborhood and a couple of years older then me. We got along pretty well, because she knew how "handle" me. She hardly ever had to "pull rank" or use punishment to get me to do what she wanted.

When she left home at some point, she handed all here clients, including us, to her younger sister, which was actually a year younger then me. I don't think anyone realized that little fact until she showed up the fist time. Of course then it was to late to change plans, so my protests were ignored. That wasn't a good start and it went downhill from there. At first I retired to my room and mostly ignored her and she was happy enough to leave my alone. I guess she wasn't to thrilled about the situation either.
The ceasefire broke when it was time for dinner. When she called me to the table at first I said I wasn't hungry. When she insisted that I sit at the table even if I'm not eating I told her to f... herself. This didn't go down well as you can imagine. More so since my sisters decided to hop on the train and declared that they will eat in front of the tv. At that point the babysitter understandably felt the need to make an example and declared that I earned myself a spanking. I knew that she had my parents permission to spank us, but there was no way she was able to spank me without my cooperation and I wasn't going to give it. Instead I pushed her out of my room and locked the door.

20 minutes later I head my father hammering on the door. She had called my parents and he had driven home from the party they where attending. What followed where arguably some o the worst 30 minutes of my live. Fist my dad gave me the hardest paddling I ever got from him. On the bare bottom and in front of the babysitter and my sisters. Then he waited while the babysitter gave me the spanking she had intended earlier, another 10 hard swats with the paddle. Then he explained that while my parents had actually considered leaving me in charge from now on, I had thoroughly demonstrated I wasn't ready, so the girl would be our babysitter for the foreseeable future. He also promised me a lot worse if anything like this ever happened again. Then he left again. The babysitter then made me stand in the corner in our dining room, while she an my sisters finally had dinner and then she send me straight to bend.
