I've actually heard of sitting beginning as early as 12, with earlier training.
Some sitters insist on freedom to spank, and many parents seek such care. They may have various reasons.
They may not themselves be comfortable spanking, but realize that it is beneficial to their child. Or they may have found a sitter who spanks, and decided not to keep trying to find others. And most importantly, when the child's misbehavior is not just mild, they realize that the sitter's hands must not be tied, that she must be able to stop the behavior on the spot, not by repeated effort. Some kids really only respond to having their pants taken down for an "old-fashioned spanking".
