At most they are allowed to keep their socks and undershirts on during a spanking and more often then not they will be completely naked. No need to wrinkle their clothes. I'd say their legs are slightly spread unless we have to hold them by their ankles during a spanking.

There is no fixed and predetermined number of swats when we spank our kids. It depends on what they have done, the implement, their reactions during the spanking, the age of the child and so on. Can be anything from 6 hard swats with a paddle to 5 minutes of rapid-fire swats with my hand.

You are right, the diaper position gives you easier "access" to the upper thighs and they tend to get their fair share, but the main focus is always the cheeks.

My wife rarely spanks at all, usually she asks me to do it when she feels one is necessary. She only does it when I'm on a business trip or something and the punishment can't wait for my return and her brother also can't step in and help. This basically doesn't happen anymore, by now all our kids are old enough to comprehend that they are spanked for something they did a couple of days ago. It has to be at least three or four years since she last spanked our son, but I do think she has spanked him in the diaper position a few times.
