The mare's tired blue eyes drifted over the many areas where she and Gold had frequented during their years here. Tears filled her eyes, unbidden but there nonetheless. Sighing raggedly, she lowered her head as she considered where to go.

Her daughter glared with angry eyes at the world around her. Why was everything being ripped away? She felt like she had no control over anything anymore. Her charcoal muzzle dipped to nuzzle her sister in comfort.

His father's death had made him the protector of their little family and Rush intended to take his duties very seriously. His shining pelt covered thick muscles as his mane cascaded down his arched neck. He was a colt on the very verge of becoming a stallion. Despite his physical age, he still felt as if he had been thrust into the glaring world of adulthood. Sighing, he looked up at his mother for guidance.

Devastated by the loss of her twin, the frail filly stood with a vacant expression on her face. Her eyes were devoid of life, the spark having fled as Bright's died. Would she ever be the same? The events that were unfolding around her evoked no reaction from the mute beast, she was dead to the world.
