Addicted to Cigarettes (Linzi Dixon) - A Review

Part One - The Author

Linzi Dixon is a writer of smoking fetish fiction who is still active on Amazon as of 2024. They have published a number of collections of short stories and longer works covering traditional smoking fetish themes along with stories mixing this fetish with other fetishes. Smoking/Intoxication Fetish author Bazzle has indicted that they have co-operated with the author in the past. (1)(2)

Part Two - Addicted to Cigarettes

The work under review which was released to Amazon in 2020, unlike the anthologies covered earlier,(1)(3) is a single story which follows the relationship between Sienna Williamson, a 20 year old smoker and Jeff Redmond, one of her teachers.

Part Three - Comments

I'm going to begin by stating that this is a story I do not recommend for several reasons, it's sex heavy, something I've always felt detracts from the smoking and often feels like something added to distract the reader from the authors threadbare ploting. This is something that can be seen in a lot of SStoryman's later fiction.

The author also commits a major literary misstep, a striking scene in the final chapter is in fact a reworking of a key moment in Kathleen Beacon's 'My Back Yard'(4), the mistake lies not so much in the recycling of strong material, but in not acknowledging what was done.

The final issue I have with the story is the final line, it feels like the punchline to a shaggy-dog story.

As I stated earlier I don't recommend this story.

1. Reviews of the 2016 anthologies, 'Stuck With My Cigarettes' and 'Friends With Benefits' have been written, the review for the former can be found in the 13th volume of the Consolidated Smoking Fetish Fiction Review, the latter will be published in the forthcoming 28th volume of that series.
2. The story, 'Angela: Her Backstory' which appears in the 71st volume of the Noble Leaf Library and which was reviewed in the 2nd volume of the Consolidated Smoking Fetish Fiction Review, acts as a prequel to the first story in the collection under review.
3. A review of 'Sensual Smoking' a 2019 short story collection will appear in the forthcoming 28th volume of the Consolidated Smoking Fetish Fiction Review series.
4. This story can be found in the 3rd volume of the Noble Leaf Library, the review is in the 10th volume of the Consolidated Smoking Fetish Fiction Review series.
