The way around the underage causation of smoking is to have it harking back.

My stories for example

The main protagonist starts smoking when she is 16 and her friend is having sex in a car park...but it's written for when she is in her 20's. It's a reflection of the past rather than a now thinb.

The MFC is in her forties but describing her aunt starting her habit when she was 12.

The latter story is effectively true, or it was told to me in that way.

I will not write in the same way you do, because I get anxious about the younger smokers in stories. I personally don't like it. I don't mind looking back to that time of discovery...but my tastes are different.


There are very few rules at Lit, but underage stuff is a no no, unless you window dress it.

I'm still here, just not got hundreds of stories lines up.
