Subject: golf courses and fences

I am not sure my situation is unique but our house sits on the ninth hole of a golf course and the course is actually owned by the adjacent developement. We are thirty three feet from the courses property line. There are strong rumors that golfers are "tired of looking at the houses" and one of our neighbors was told that a twelve foot aluminum fence was going to be put up. He was told this after a confrontation about encroaching on the golf courses property by removing the out of bounds hedges that were installed there. The rest of us have not done this so his back yard is sitting bare naked to the golfers. I am hoping that in the heat of the battle this was said to scare him. It sure has us worried. Any thoughts on the probability of this kind of thing? I did call the "administration" office of the club and he said there was no plans on putting a fence in. The next day surveyors were putting down red flags in our back yards. I made another call to the administration office and he stated it must be for the courses restoration project next winter...What are your thoughts on fences and golf courses? Thanks,
Mike Smith
