The natural exposition of the boys sexual organs during bathing allows the mother to assess the boys development with ease and avoids the act of undressing for the boy. Bathing is also a time during which natural erections of the penis are also more frequent. As experts point out, it is prudent to check the boy's penis for possible phimosis rather during an erection than in a flacid state.
