's message, "Things I did not want to hear" on 04:11:22 12/20/15 Sun Cuthbert, a lot of those sayings you quoted were quite familiar to me, although I tried to avoid punishments like you described which were meant to humiliate as well as being extremely painful. Often, my teacher would threaten to lower our shorts so we could receive a most severe punishments. Wearing shorts was a form of humiliation, particularly for the older boy, primarily used to remind the boy of his lowly station and to keep him in his place. I'm sure this was a form of control and certainly my shorts that I wore were brief and they had to be worn girlie type panties to add to the humiliation. Of course, wearing short shorts was clearly an advantage to the parent, who could liberally administer corporal punishment as and when desired in public.
