Subject: Old boy 1957-60

Hello from the 1950s!
I had a happy childhood in Beaumaris living in Iscoed
and attending the Primary School from 1957 until we moved
to England in 1960. That was because my dad who worked at Saunders Roe and was involved in a strike for �10 a week got sacked. I remember on my first day at school crying for my mummy all day! No computers then of course: I distictly remember using wood-framed slates and chalk rather than paper and pens! We Dorans were Roman Catholics (an alien species in those days) and had a separate religious tutorial before school. I well remember being greeted one morning with "here come Catholics - late again!" and this from a teacher who should have known better. But happy days, especially exploring the woods above the school and abandoned gardens of the Bulkley estate, and swimming in the waves as the St.Tudno sailed past the pier.
I remember two neighboring boys: Keith Williams and Keithie Williamson. Any news from them would be welcome.
