Subject: Hiding from a hiding!

When our oldest son was about 6 or 7, on being informed he was getting a good spanking, he dashed up to his bedroom to escape his discipline. I walked up the stairs, calling his name, and entered his room, only to find it was empty! Puzzled, I checked the other rooms revealing no sign of a naughty son. I went back to his room, peered under his bed. No joy. It was only then, that I heard a slight rustling sound coming from the airing cupboard. Opening the door, I still couldn't see him. Moving some linen on the top shelf to one side, I found him curled up, and looking both guilty and nervous! The shelf ran about a hot water tank, so it was a feat of athleticism that he managed to get up there at all.
Well, to be truthful, I didn't spank him too soundly, so impressed was I with his ingenuity!

Did you have hide outs if a spanking was on the cards in your home? Did Mom or Dad find you? Do your kids ever run to seek a safe haven from an impending session over your knee?!
