That was the general Idea. Did you know that he thinks himself nothing more than a drudge?
Technically, status-wise, he is, but-
Nerilki!
-but he's officially 'kin', as I knew him in Boll.
That makes him Lord stock?

Avianyth's blunt question startled a laugh out of the girl. She shook her head, and said, still chuckling, " Avianyth likes her little jokes. Please forgive her if she startled you- she has no tact at all!"

Nerilki lifted her hand from Ginny's brow, and resumed her sewing, using small stitches to create the oter rim of the sun.

"Presumably, the reason they give us lectures is so that we'll be ready, but- well, Wessae, our Weyrwoman, waited until the flight. I haven't been able to ask anyone what it's like."
Suddenly, Nerikli realized that she was speaking about personal matters, best left alone. Tath looked somewhat- pale and scared, if that was possible. Ah, well. She tried to cut her mind from that train of thought.
