Subject: I could be mean

I could be angry

D'ris, wake up.

The eighteen Turn old slumbered on. He was lying in his bed, looking more peaceful than he usually did.

D'RIS!! Wake the SHARD UP!!
Five more minutes, Daddy. Five more minutes...
You don't have five more mintes! The Hatching Feast if about to start.
Don't care, I'm sleeping.
Want me to send your father after you?

THAT woke the bronze weyrling up.
"Why do you have to be so sharding bossy?" he wondered aloud as he picked up one scuffed boot, ready to pull it on.

Do you really want to go to the Feast in nightclothes? Obitusith inquired, mischieviously.

"Thank you," D'ris said sarcastically, shucking his undyed cotton sleeping breeches. He stood slowly, stretching like a feline. His dark hair was a mess, as it always was. Whip-like muscles shifted under the smooth, unbroken skin on his calves as he walked sleepily over to his dresser, and began pawing through a long bottom drawer.

You know I could be just like you

D'ris, what are you looking for?
My black breeches. You know, the ones that looked like leather? I remember they were comfortable.
Oh, those. I think they got thrown away.
By whom?
You.

D'ris couldn't find his breeches. Instead, he found a pair of deep brown ones, embroidered with small, dark green designs on the cuffs. He pulled them on, and stood, still barechested.

Might want to grab a shirt and tunic, you know.

D'ris yawned, and looked down at his bare chest. He knelt to open another drawer of the dresser, this one smaller. He found a deep brown tunic the same color as his breeches, and pulled it on. The unic and breeches felt more snug than they should have been, by D'ris ignored it. So what if he had gotten more muscular? Made it all that much easier to keep up with an active bronze dragon.

I could be fake

Aren't you hungry? D'ris asked, seated on his lumpy, unmade bed once more. He picked up a scuffed black boot, and began to shove his foot inside of it.

No, I'm not. Those are the ones that were too small for you, remember? Obitusith reminded his sleepy rider, and extended a wing to catch the sun.

"Thanks, o-so-magnificent one," D'ris muttered, dropping the black boot and picking up a much larger one- the brown one he tried to put on earlier.

I could be stupid

"Am I ready?" D'ris asked, standing up after putting on both boots.
Dressed, booted- clean teeth?
Yes, I'll do it in a minute.
Neat hair?
Why do I need a thing like that? Look better with messy hair.
True, now, I think that's it. Go clean your teeth.

D'ris went into the bathing room, and rubbed a mint stick over his teeth.
"I pronounce myself to be ready. I'm gone," he said to the air, walking into the door.
Open it?
"I knew that," D'ris muttered, opening the door and walking down the short part of the corridor that led to the flight of stairs that dropped directly to the Lower Caverns.

You know I could be just like you
