I had thought it might be boring, or endless "I love you," "no man I love YOU." But, they gave a lot of time to performing and that was great. I forgot how much I love The Cure and I was reminded that I actually went to see Def Leppard awhile back and how good they are. They are completely what I'd classify as not my music. At that time a friend of mine got tickets and convinced me to go, it was weird that I had forgotten completely until they started playing. The only one I channel jumped on was Roxy Music. I can kind of see their appeal at one point in time, but Bryan Ferry is so establishment and aspirational to be one of the Tory landed gentry and ick. It's rock and roll, be mavericks. Again, though I was delighted to hear The Cure; I think Robert Smith went to the same make-up application school I did. The school for people who can't apply black eyeliner and red lipstick good. I know he doesn't care, though and good for him. The Zombies were like meeting a completely new band for me, they were really interesting and still a wonderful group. Stevie was sublime and I read something about her gifting shawls and that she still has so many - ever since then I want one. So, my future goals include doing something that receives a score of 10 out of 10 Goldblums and getting a Stevie shawl. I'm just a humble lass, ya know.

Same as you I wondered about Rodney and loud music. I figured since he went to so many concerts he must have special doggie earmuffs, or a fine appreciation for that moment when you've just gotta rock out. Pour some Alpo on me... But, that just reminded me that I also want some Union Jack headphones like Rick Allen. He was so touched by the reception of the audience, that I had a tear or two.

I'm a little sad that Janet didn't perform, but I don't know how much live performing she's done recently, or any since having a baby. She doesn't strike me as someone who would half-ass it.

Chris and co did have a wonderful table and it was fun to see him engage and get into the music, especially for Stevie at the beginning. I adore people who aren't too cool for school and proceed to get up and shake their money maker. Stevie did, as mentioned by another poster, give a shout out to Sheryl, as her manager, and that was very nice. Anyway, it wasn't all industry, let's pat each other on the back as I thought. There really was a gamut of ages and styles of music. I think being there live must be a big time commitment, so I was happy to watch from home.
