who elects not to get married or have kids because he/she knows he/she would not have time for a wife or kids is not a selfish person, he/she is very wise. On the other hand, if someone elects to get married and have kids already knowing he/she doesn't have the time for them or means to support them is selfish, in my opinion. Usually things where you try to "have your cake and eat it, too" do not work out.
