Subject: Ugly Basketball?????

I've only been reading these posts for about a week. I've read all the back and forth about who is to blame for the recent lapse in production and the boo-ing from the fans. Boo-ing anyone in the Saints program certainly doesn't help anything. But you do have that right, even though you look like a juvenile idiot when you do. Enough about that.

There have been some discussion about other coaches and such. That brings me to the title of the post. Ugly Basketball! I think most fans go to the game to be entertained. That doesn't always mean a "W". This current version of Saints basketball is just plain ugly. Even though coach Lanier said there is no such thing as an ugly win, I respectfully disagree. Every one in our conference knows EXACTLY what we will do as soon as we walk the ball up the court. Guard goes left or right......passes to center who comes up high to reverse the ball.....passes to other side then goes back down low......etc., etc,. etc. Now I realize there are different options that can come from this, but please! Isn't it time we saw some different motions and a little more up tempo. You can learn more about offense watching a CYO game than you can watching the Saints. I've been a season ticket holder since they were Div. 2, and will remain a season ticket holder. But I'll say one thing. I would rather see a Hewitt coached team lose 96 to 94 and be entertained than watch a Lanier coached team win 52 to 48. The bottom line, for me at least, is right now Siean basketball is Ugly Basketball!
