Subject: Mid Year MAAC considerations

Most of us Siena fans thought Prosper had a very good chance of getting POY for the MAAC. My predictions were horrible so let's leave that out of it. Some stats from the MAAC site (through 1/27): Does Prosper have a chance? Let's see:

POINTS REBOUNDS ASSISTS
Clark 24.4 ppg (1st) not in top 20 3.29 a/g (8th)
Flores 23.6 ppg (2nd) 5.4 reb/g (17th) 2.82 a/g (14th)
Mallory 18.2 ppg (3rd) 6.4 reb/g (10th) not in top 15
Mendez 17.5 ppg (4th) 8.6 reb/g (1st) not in top 15
Eppehimer 17.5 ppg (4th) 4.9 reb/g (19th) not in top 15
Johnson (Rider)17.4 ppg (6th) not in top 20 not in top 15
Karangwa 17.3 ppg (7th) 6.9 reb/g (7th) 4.83 a/g (3rd)

POY should have one of the best PPG. And should be on a winning team. Prosper has both of these, but I don't think at this point he can overcome Flores. It's too big of a scoring difference IMHO. Mallory has good numbers, but still far from Flores scoring and he's on Canisius, which won't finish in the top half of the league. Clark has the best scoring and pretty good assists, but he's on St. Peters, which similiar to Canisius won't be on the top half of the league much less the top.

Of the competition, I think the only possible consideration other than Flores is Prosper. Prosper's has picked up the last 2 games, if he keeps it up he may have a chance. But I think that Flores would have to have a couple of bad games or Manhattan would have to go into a little tailspin, neither of which I see happening at this point - especially after last night's Manhattan game vs. Seton Hall.

What do you guys think?
