Just to play devil's advocate...

1) Did Lanier run out Fletcher or did the coaching change itself + Fletcher's own issues?
2) Lanier hasn't run Jamal Jackson out. Question may well be if Jackson is the answer.
3) Didn't Lanier himself play the point? If so, I would have to think there is some potential for a good relationship to be struck with the right kid. Unless he's the type who cannibalizes his own. I wouldn't know about this and if you do know something about Lanier's personality I don't I humbly submit.
