Does Sullivan have the tactical know-how when it comes to basketball to criticize the style of play Van Breda Kolff has used at St. Bonaventure? I'm probably not qualified to answer that question, because I don't have a background in coaching. I suspect that he doesn't, either. And I am skeptical that the author ever played organized basketball, as well. Van Breda Kolff won in three different programs prior to coming to St. Bonaventure, and was the WCC Coach of the Year at Pepperdine in 1999. He's the son of a longtime professional coach, as you probably know. So is this columnist, who likely has never coached a CYO game, qualified to question Van Breda Kolff's bench-coaching? Everybody's entitled to their opinion, but I am skeptical as to whether his opinion could hold a whole lot of weight.

And I'd be careful about lumping people together. This is, after all, an anonymous message board. "Guys like us" could be sitting next to you on media row, and you might not even know it.
