• I agree about Portsmouth prepping their girls. They had great success this season prepping their 3 girls capturing the Miss Ohio title, her 1RU, and a T10 finisher. Clayland still preps their girl as well- they only have one titleholder- and they offer a larger scholarship, I believe. Charmea who runs Miss Greater Cleveland will end up sending 5-7 girls to Miss Ohio.   • This year's Teen was naturally beautiful & very poised on stage, so exceptionally strong in fitness and gown, has the face & of course, they loved her in interview. Since the scoring has changed, to win you have to fight for every point in every category! Don't do all your prep in only your favorite/best competition. Winners may not win talent, or fitness, but score solidly across the board. Don't just wing your gown presentation. Work hard on walk- in your competition shoes, until it looks natural. Choreograph your turns, hand placement, where you look, etc, and also your fitness routine/posing. Record yourself to see what you're doing right/wrong. Select a gown that compliments your figure and coloring. You can spend thousands on that gown, but if you don't carry yourself right in it, you wasted your money. Long ago, Stephen didn't like the Teen director (but he liked her money), so the board passed a resolution that after 10ys members would have to step down, so they could get rid of her. What they really didn't think through was at some point, it would affect them. Stephen was forced to step down after the 2014 season and knew the board that had been working to get him out for years would not reinstate him. So, he went to Sam. She's now competed at MO 5 seasons with a record of T10, NF, 2RU, 3RU, T10. #1 reason she didn't make finals- this year is the most competitive I can remember in at least a decade. Baylee strikes me as having a very childlike demeanor; not childISH, but tender and vulnerable which can come off as needy. MA's direction is a fierce, accomplished, glamorous woman, like our MA Madison. If I were a judge and therefore didn't know of her, I would believe, compared to others, she's not emotionally up to the job of a state titleholder. She's also dangerously thin. Don't come at me with reasons or it's 'fitness', the fact of the matter is she looks dangerously thin and that's not a standard I want presented to young girls. Additionally, an argument could be made that her participating in volunteer hurt her as well, but it’s hard to know that for certain. We all know Steven wouldn’t like it though. Steven doesn’t want to have to deal with a girl who has others advocating for her. Baylee has that.   • Olivia is very fit. Just because she’s not built like a stick does not mean that she’s not fit. She consistently talks about her eating disorder recovery and injury that debilitated her for a year and a half while recovering. People like you are exactly why pageant girls are so prone to eating disorders and don’t seek treatment. I’m proud of her for coming back after recovering and being an example of sustainable health. She also attended a top 3 musical theatre school, which produced 3 Miss Americas. Not to mention she is the ONLY contestant in law school. She is getting her JD from OSU Moritz - a top 30 law school.   • Since the inception of the pageant 50+ years ago, Miss GC has always been the top title, followed by Northern Ohio, Spirit of Ohio, and any other title added on, like Lake Erie.
    Everyone understands the standard in Ohio has always been to call the RsU- the 6th place finisher is 2RU, 5th place 1RU, then the first title awarded goes to the 4th place finisher & so forth, to the top title- GC. That was until last year when SO intervened and changed up the order.
    Steven won't allow a T10 MAO contestant who went and won Miss Volunteer Ohio to win Miss Ohio. Too petty. Too insecure.
    Since any girl in T5 can win, she can't be allowed to advance beyond semis. It would be suspect for Jayleen to come off a big win at Cleveland and 2 months later not placing T5, so lil Stevie changed the titles & the public's perception of who won that day, placing Jayleen last. • REPOSTED FROM CLICK-IN: The corruption of MAO has finally reached Clayland. As someone that attended, that pageant was a joke. I would be very interested in the interview results because I think some shady dealings were happening behind the scenes. You can blame a lot on a bad interview but seeing how the winner spoke on stage she should NOT have a place in the state competition. She is far out of her league. She had also better pray there are no trained dancers on the judging panel because there was no technique to be found. It was really embarrassing to watch. Macs got the winning talent, impeccable resume, solid future, and comes off as intelligent & relatable. She's very poised & understandably put on weight during law school at Hogwarts, but that can be dealt with in the next 8 1/2 months. • She was not the strongest, Ava was. Ava had the whole package: talented, pretty, fit and thin (as most dancers are), smart and knows what looks good on her on stage. Aside from her talent costume Brittany didn’t look good on stage. The hairpiece wasn’t blended and was frizzy and her gown looked like an Elvira. Brittany just speaks better because she’s much older and a lawyer. That’s not to say Ava isn’t well spoken. Brittany just has 5 years and a law degree on her.
