As Seereth lands, Mave sheds her gear, jumping off her queen's back, and splashing water on her face. The droplets cling to her face, vaguely reminiscent of the tears which had traced their way down her face. Removing the rest of her clothing, she bathes quickly, grabbing meat-rolls from a platter and devoring them messily as she changes into new garb. Dark blue overdress, with slits in the side and leggings beneath, embroidery at the hems and neck, similar in shape and color to waves on a beach. Slipping into hide slippers, she shrugs on her jacket and remounts Seereth. Meeting Cliff.

Lyra sat between Danth's neck ridges a soft cloth lathered in oil in one hand. She was critically looking at Danth's scales, shaking her head. They where filthy. She cursed herself for it, and decided to do an extra fine job for the Wyr trained Dragon. She dipped the sponge in the small can of oil and begsn rubbing in a circular motion. The smell of oil filled her nostrils, but she din't mind for it was a Dragon thing, and she didn't mind anything that had to do with Dragons. Danth sighed and said his voice filling her head Lyra, could you rub a lil harder?
"Sure Danthy," she murmered and applied more pressure. Soon his neck was shining, and she carefully balanced the oil on a neck ridge as she leaned down for his muscular shoulders. The oil can tipped and doused his whole side, "Shards," Lyra muttered quickly dismounting soaking her front with the dripping oil as she did so.
Danth chuckled as she quickly worked the oil in, finishing the oiling quicker then she thought she would.
With Danth sunning himself next to her she took his riding straps and looked them over ixing a tear in one of the straps, Her back against Danth's chest the thudding of his heart the omly sound she heard.

She dug around in her trunk in thier weyr. GOT IT. She exclaimed, straitening. She started to oil Firith, who crooned in appreciation. She quickly finished and she and her blue lay down for a short nap.

Arisma strode in, pulling off her riding jacket. Milanth followed her, eyes gently whirling the same shade of green as her hide. DO YOU WANT TO SLEEP, BATHE, BE OILED, OR GO EAT? Arisma asked her lifemate. SLEEP WOULD BE GOOD, YOU LOOK TIRED. Arisma giggled at her green's astute comment. OK. She grabbed a blanket out of her bag and waited for her dragon to find a comfortable place to settle down. Milanth instected the area carefully before lying down and curling up. Arisma sat down between Milanth's forearms and wrapped her blanket around her. In a matter of miniutes, both dragon and rider were asleep.

"Danth, I dunno...I don't trust her to live through Thread..I'm scared she's not gonna live through a Fall."
Piryth will take care of her, sure they're not the most responsible pair, but you know Piryth would never let anything happen to Raen..or vice versa.
Lyra leaned against Danth, "You're right..but why do I still think something bad will happen?
"Because she's your sister, sure Piryth is a Weyrbred and should know to pay attention, but..I mean...you know they're both headstrong, they'll get betta'.
"I hope so.."
She sighed and closed her eyes, Danth's heart beating like a bass drum in her ears...

He surveys his rider with a critical eye after they have landed and H'lin has planted his feet on the ground. Your getting out of condition.
"I could say the same to you, lout." He grins as he runs a hand along the bright hide. "I'd say what you need is a good oiling and a nice long nap, agreed?" The dragon lays down, signaling his assent with half closed eyes.
"Hmmph, I haven't started yet." He takes out the oil and a moderately clean cloth. With experienced movements he rubs the oil not hard, but not to gently either.
H'lin oils down the bronze until Samiath gleams, he smiles and puts away the oil and cloth.
Now sleep. Already the dragon sounds like he's far from awake, his breathing deepening with each new breath.
"Sleep tight then," H'lin says, resisting the urge to hug the massive beast. Instead he swings around and starts the walk to The Table, Samiath's dreams ringing in his mind.

Growing, indeed. I think, B'nderra, I need an oiling. I feel completely itchy! He nods, fetching the material to sheen and perfect the bronze's hide.
"Lest you peel, of course." He answers, grinning as he makes the circular motions across the broadening shoulders and powerfyl hindquarters. "D'you think you could stick around? I need to head to the Table, klah sounds absolutely perfect."
Fine, but when you get back, we need to go to the Bowl. Keirth nudges his rider, ruffling the black hair and snorting affirmatively. Giving the muzzle a last pat, he struts easily out, headed for the Table.

The young woman padded lightly along the road to Southern Weyr. Rene's weyrhide boots were, by now, covered in dust. "Here," she murmed to herself, brushing a strand of light brown hair away and tucking it behind one ear. She was here, but where were the dragons? There were none that she could see: the blue skies were clear, and not one of the magnificient creatures glowed on the horizon. Arienne looked about uneasily; there should be dragons, or at least riders, about at the beginning of a Pass.
Rene glanced around, bending her thumb back as she did. A dragon! He was glowing steadily, and his rider looked agitated. There's a Flight! she realized, and began to chuckle softly. Then, shaking her head, she walked into the Weyr. Perhaps I'll get some food...

"That's good," He stands and walks over to the other boy, placing his hands lightly on his shoulders and giving him a backwards push. "Now how 'bout you get settled too!" The youth lay stretched out in the sun after a long swim with Jeneth. His two fire-lizards, Eir and Namak, curled up beside him- Eir between his shoulder and head, Namak on his chest. With a sigh, he remembers the Hatching, the beginning if this new life.
*I'm very happy you were there, T'ren!* the bronze tells him.
*And so am I!* was the rider's empathatic reply. Grinning, he rolls over, causing Namak to cheep and fall off. Jeneth lays down, and T'ren smiles happily.

Ritaki walks over with some oil, and begins rubbing it firmly but softly into her lifemate's hide. Now nearly full grown, Alieth was large even for a queen, and, at least in Ritaki's eyes, the most beautiful dragon ever to fly the skies of Pern.

- T'ren takes a large pot of oil off the shelf, as well as a brush. It was needed for Jeneth, Namak, Eir, and himself. -- T'ren~Jeneth, 16:36:47 06/24/01 Sun
He hadn't been aware that his tanned skin was capable of being burnt, but the Southern sun had proved him wrong. Namak and Eir were hatchling flitters, while Jeneth was still growing. T'ren hoped that soon Jeneth would reach his full size, which would allow T'ren to ride. Awhile later, the oiling job was finished, the flitters covered head to claw, and Jeneth as well. He himself and lathered his neck, the underpart of his arms, and his nose, while the rest of him had been covered by playful flying creatures.

Her golden queen rumbles to draw her Weyrmates attention. Mave smiles and begins scrubbing her dragon's gold hide with a wirey brush. Then she hoses the gold down, drying of her sopping skin. After replacing the supplies the young-woman choses a pot of oil and a rag. She thoroughly rubs the golds hide, getting into the flaking bits and smoothing out the rough bits. The rhythmic strokes gently massaging the gold's hide. The golden queen's eyes fall lower, and finally she falls asleep. Mave steps back, satisfied and walks off.

Adath, give 'em an alarm would you? ~Most certaintly~ The large bronzes head dips slightly in acknowledgement and he initiates his command. ~ALL WEYRLINGS WHOSE DRAGONS HAVE AGED ENOUGH TO BEGIN TRAINING, REPORT TO THE BARRACKS IMMEDIATELY!~ In a softer mind-voice he continues. ~This includes, Kiai and Giganth, V'gor and Tranth, Valor and Elith, Ivana and Cartith, K'ndelek and Dimath, and Salio and Sarath.~ The bronze-rider gently strokes his dragons nose in thanks, wincing slightly at the first mental tone.

*Arisma and K'skin trot in with Milanth and Deneth. Both look at each other and grin. They each grab a bucket and cloth and take to both dragons. The green's and brown's eyes lid over in bliss. The pair oil their hides and wait until the dragons fall asleep before heading after D'aven.*

Smiling quietly to herself she heads towards the table to satisfy her ravashing hunger.

Male with stunning brown slowly wander in, they converse in peace, talking about nothing at all as they reach where the other hatchlings and newely 'appointed' dragonriders are. With a short nod the handsome male pushes out sweeps of brownhair and goes to bathing and oiling Greith's skin. After the hatchling has finished, he is well-fed, and no longer itchy. With a gentle sigh the beast prepares for a nice...long...nap. M'takua sighs in disapointment and glances about, having half a mind to inquire if any other canidate would care to join him at the table...deciding agaisnt it he turns around and heads towards the table--solitary like always, his figure, moving swiftly, almost in a sulking movement, the way that his eyes dart about suspiciously, sets an instant aura of forboding around himself...he is merely outcasting himself, while he believes it to be the other way around.

The newly matched pair strides in, Oyuna slightly behind. The green raises her muzzle, emitting a warble of welcoming to those about her, before finding her own place in which to sleep. As she lays down, Oyuna manages to find a bucket of oil, and sets about to rubbing down the beautiful hide. As her hand travels down the smooth skin, she notices several small scars criss-crossing through the emerald hide, marring it slightly. She turns to Mereth, eyes concerned. ~What happened, my dear Mereth?~ Shells are sharp. In my struggle, I hit the edges several times. It is nothing to worry about, they shall heal mend. Oyuna still seems concerned, but pushes it aside, admiring the beautiful sheen of her beloved, perfect Mereth. With a low rumble, the green drifts off to sleep, her rider leaning against the wall. From where she sits, she can see the golden Alieth, and her Impressed, Ritaki. She smiles respectfully, before letting her head drop onto her chest, sleeping fitfully.

Danth says *Oil,fun,bubbles!*
She grins,"Alright Danth you find a comfy spot I'll be back."
Danth romps off finding a nice warm grassy spot he lays down.
Lyra comes up with some oil,"Was the egg itchy?"
*Vey!*
Lyra sits down and starts work....once she is finished she inspects Danth "You look marvelous!"
He grins as only a Dragon could *I always do*
"I know Danth,I know!"
Danth looks aeound,*We should find other Dragons to hang out with!*
"I dont know Danth."
*Come on Lyra!!*
"Lets try somethin'!"
*What?*
"To fly!"
Danth runs down the bank flapping his wings ,*Am I flying?*
"No Danth,come here silly."
Danth rushes to her knocking her off her feet*More Food?*
"Alright,your a hungry guy arent you?"
Suddenly a Firelizard comes fluttering up it chirps and squeaks,the small brown landng on Lyra's shoulder ,"Oh Danth this is Lunaur my Firelizard."
*Sure is a small thing isnt it?*
Se laughs,"Compared to you Danth come on lets go explore,and et!" They leave...

Sh'muel flops down beside his bronze and leans against Lirth's side. Suddenly, the hatchling's mindvoice cut through his exhaustion. {I itch.} Immediately Sh'muel is awake. He didn't want to be accused of not caring for Lirth. ~Where?~ he asks anxiously. {Just get the oil. The itch is everywhere.} ~Oh!~ Sh'muel rushes to get a pot of oil and is back instantly. He snatches a nearby rag from a shelf and spreads the oil onto Lirth's still-sticky body. A mind-sigh reaches the boy from the bronze's direction, and he grins, glad to know his weyrmate doesn't mind his momentary negligence. He couches his head on Lirth's well-oiled side and breathes deeply the comforting, musty, dragon smell. He feels himself drifting off to sleep, but snaps himself awake, and after a few more minutes' rest, the two exit again.

and Alieth lies down an the stone "couch", satiated after her meal. Happily, Ritaki picks up some oil, and rubs it gently into Alieth's glowing golden hide. When she is done, she puts it neatly away, then scratches the hatchling's eye ridges fondly. Alieth croons happily, and drifts off to sleep.

"Here, this will help get off the egg and keep you healthy, Cartith..." Ivana puts oil on a soft rag and gently rubs the oil over Cartith's scales. *That feels nice... hey, I have a question...* Ivana lifts her head slightly, but her light touch doesn't falter. "Yeah?" *Well, at the Impression, your eyes were, I dunno, kind of sad. Why?* The young girl swivels her eyes around, making sure that no one could overhear her. "Well, my mother had made somethings poisonous in my house that were called drugs. I somehow got it into my head that it was okay to use them, so I gave some to my friends and we all got hurt by them." Judging by Cartith's puzzled expression, Ivana explained. "Drugs are things that hurt your body if you don't use them correctly or that are just plain bad for you. I misused them a lot and hurt my body because of it, and my sister Rachel found out. I took her to a party and," she pauses, "she was killed. And it was my fault." She grows silent, but her light touch still does not falter. *I'm sorry.* Ivana stiffens. "No, I'm sorry. You did nothing but a good thing, which was trusting me and being my friend. And I promise that I will always be a good one." She hugs her dragon and finishes oiling. Ivana then finds some meat and hands it to Cartith, who eats it thankfully. *Aren't you having any?* "No, I'm not hungry." Cartith then lays down and wraps her tail around Ivana, and they both fall to into slumber.

Itch! *Dimath turns his head and trys to wipe off some of the remaining eggshell. K'ndelek catches his nose and clicks his toungue at him.* Now, now. 'Ang on, it'll be quick. *With his free hand he swipes a bucket of water and overturns it on his bonded's head. Dimath's eyes lid over several times in estacy.* Good. Now you can oil that spot on my back. Okay, sure, whatever his majesty requires! *K'ndelek bends over his brown's back and rubs tenderly.*
Dimath has the right idea. *Sarath croons and pokes at Salio's hand. Salio smiles and wets a rag, running it over Sarath many times until she's sure that all the shell is gone. Without being told, she oils the green down and rubs her eyeridge. Sarath croons and flicks her tail happily.* I love you, Sarath, you're the best thing to happen to me. And I you, Salio, and I you.
*K'ndelek watches his sister and her green, happy beyond belief that she impressed.* You're happy for her, how 'bout me? *K'ndelek sighs and rubs Dimath* Dimath, I love you too, but you don't know how much better her life is now. *Her waves at Salio, leaving Dimath smug* Let's go and let the dragons sleep. *Seeing her shake her head and indicate she'll stay with Sarath, he nods. Rises and stretches.* 'Ey, buddy, I'm gonna go explore some, okay? Sure. I'll sleep. *Dimath yawns and curls up, all eyelids closing. K'ndelek smiles and sets out to head back to explore.*
