I asked my wife to spank me. How domestic discipline helped me.
The last several years have been difficult. I was experiencing serious back and leg pain. PT and medication didn’t help but a few acholic drinks late in the day provided some relief. Then the Covid pandemic arrived. I started to become moody and impatient likely influenced by the alcohol consumption which was becoming excessive.
My wife and I approach tasks and activities very differently. I try to be helpful, but my impatience was causing friction. My growing frustration led me to decide not to help out. I observed myself as content standing by watching my wife struggled with some activities.
My wife is a wonderful woman, loving, caring, responsible and occasionally refers to herself as the original geisha girl. She was certainly more deserving than the kind of care and attention that I was now providing.
Fortunately, after two long years, surgery relieved much of my physical pain. Unfortunately, my poor behaviors remained. No longer could I use pain to rationalize my poor behavior. It was time for some serious self-reflection.
I knew my poor behavior required correction. The results of my own efforts were short lived because I lacked the necessary self-discipline. I needed help. Another personal observation was despite my alpha personality on tasks, I would always ultimately submit to her will on relationship matters.
One of the characteristics I admire most about my wife is her self-discipline on personal matters. I decided to ask her for help apologizing for my poor attitude and treatment toward her. I asked her to spank me to reenforce the needed changes. Although somewhat reticent, she reluctantly went along, and we began daily training and correction sessions. I promised myself that if this was to work, I would be totally open and honest about the issues I was struggling with. E.g., alcohol.
She has taken control and over the course of several weeks my behaviors have totally turned around including elimination of alcohol. Having a background training horses, her preferred approach is to use a riding crop or leather riding whip. She has become enthusiastic about our daily training and correction sessions and now introduces matters of her own concern for correction.
I am now focused every day at being attentive, caring, loving and supportive. I feel unburdened, happy, peaceful. Perhaps a similar approach could help others.
