Subject: I hate exams.

I have to finish my film exam tomorrow. It's not gonna be fun...I have to do ALL the sound. That's right, because last time i tried to do it, G3 blue #2 decided not to play sound. Oh, i could import sound all i liked, but was it gonna play any? NO. G4 in training anyone?
Plus I have to come up with the actual music. Did you know it's nearly impossible to find a WAV that sounds just like you need it to?
i just finished recording the noise of an ominously squeaky wheel on an overhead projecter (it kills Zach Hecht-Leavitt)because I couldn't find a suitable wav. here's the correct procedure.
1) Curse a whole lot.
2) Fish the ol' computer mic out of closet and plug it in.
3) Procure $8 field day foot locker (side note= Asif and I found two of these, he got dibs since he needs one for college. So i get the one with no key. 'That's okay,' i say, slapping my good buddy on the back, 'the lock won't close anyway'. i figured I'd take a hacsaw to the hasp and just use combination lock. Then I shove it in Michele's trunk, followed by my $10 turntable. The damn thing locks. I had tried all morning to see if it would lock on me, and NOW it locks. with approx. 30 odd books in there INCLUDING THE NECRONOMICON!!! and michele's newly acquired stuffed squirrel. The damn thing's still locked. I think the said evil book locked itself in there.)
4) Record noise of squeaky clasp (not the lock)
5) Curse a lot, reposition crappy mic
6) Try again; it doesn't work; go have a drink.
6.5) Fancy that! Still doesn't work! Go watch borrowed Trigun until murderous rage subsides. Specifically, "hard puncher", where Vash keeps chanting "Love and Peace!". Trust me, it helps.
7) Finally get the sound to record loud and clear.
7.5) Realize the hinge sound has a deep end you don't want; step outside; primal scream to heavens. rerecord with a trashy equalizer app to knock out the low end.
8) add echo
9) convert to mp3 with command-line LAME encoder.
10) cry.
keep in mind, my mind is totally deadened at this point-I just watched "the sixth day"
and then I have to deal with the other 6:55 of the damn 7 minutes. So tell me, what the hell am I doing posting this message when I should be burning a soundtrack?
