Subject: FROM MYSTIC TO POWER COLOR CLASSIC

After reading about how and why I should transform my CC to a Mystic and then, with your great help, performed a HI-RES mod to 640x480 and a final MAC OS upgrade to 7.6.1, I'm looking for more mountains to conquer.
In the various web pages from CSCC etc , they talk about how a 620 mod is necessary to allow the use of 5200 (why?), 5400,5500, 6400, or even 6500 mb's. The result is a reasonably fast power cc which is great for hs internet surfing and can later be upgraded to either a G3 or G4 with a little help from Sonnett.
I've been studying various pages showing how to do the 620 upgrade and understand that the mb connector on the 5200-6500 are identical to the 620. I even sold my old mb from my (very slow) 5200CD to someone with a 620 so that I could upgrade my system with a much faster 5400 mb and he acquired a successful power pc upgrade for his 620 . I understand that the CC and the >=620 mb's while they are identical in width, are about 4 cm greater in length than a CC or 575 mb. As a result, we have to carve out more space (towards the front in the CC case).
Now here is where I get a bit lost. Does that mean that you must now swap the CC, or 575 female connector in the front that you've moved forward to compensate for the longer mb length for a 620 female connector? If so, is it possible to have a male (preferably right angled) male cc/575 connector to a female 620 connector. If that were possible then you would be able to easily connect to the new mb style with the minimum of wiring. Has anyone thought of that? Is it possible ? From the pages that I've seen , does one really have to rewire 50-75 wires to add the 620 connector?
Thanks for your help.
PS: I don't remember if it was a 620 or a 630 connector.
Ted
