Unfortunately - horisontal LB placement is out of the question (at least for me). Shaving off all obstructing plastic in CC's case didn't helped much. The problem is that back part of CC is rounded - so ideally to push LB deeper - the corners of LB have to be shaved off (or rounded) and I'm not sure that I prepared to do that ...

I wend back therefore to my original placement - nearly vertical, close to the back side of CC opposite to the floppy drive, PCI cards on upper part (that is somewhere in the middle of CC) with the opposide edge of LB as close to the CC's side (and bottom part) as possible.

With obstructing parts shaved off this last try was not that bad - with A/V card + 3 PCI cards installed it allowed me to put DVD-ROM, my MO drive (same size as floppy) and two harddrive (stacked altogether at the floppy side of CC). If DVD-ROM is placed at the bottom of CC, then there's a space behind floppy and HDDs for ATX PSU. I might still took it out from protective metal case to save some space. In the small area left above HDDs - there's enough place for my LCD controller. In the other tiny area at the opposite side of LB is enough place to put TV tuner + IR module.

I did put everything in and it fitted although quite tightly.

So I guess I will stick to this approach. I will do one final assembly in my trial CC's case (hmm - not much of CC's case anymore :-) and then will start a real mod.
Alex
