As I said it would be hard in case of Taco to make any legal claims. Taco is a beige G3 LB + LCD in CC's case. It does not use any secret knowledge or howto - just a smart putting everything together (and that will be different for every Taco). So answer me, please, on what ground you would base your legal claim?????

Besides - not everyone has an ability to do such a job themselves. I'm not saying about difficulties of obtaining controllers for LCD - you can't simply buy them (not in UK at least). So what in your case left to the people that want more powerful CC but can't make it themselves?

If I had a chance to buy reasonably priced Taco (components + work), then I wouldn't even bother to do it myself. Take for instance Maxus computers in Japan - I thing they doing great jobs making CC's conversion commercially available.

In any case my whole interest and intention of all my modifications is to obtain more powerful CC and share this with everybody. As soon as what we did will remain as a fact that we did it first then it's fine with me. Everything else - does not matter to me.

I still think it's pretty useless to claim copyright on something like sticking MO or Zip drive in CC. It's essentially the same thing as saying "I've replaced floppy drive in my PC by Zip drive - and now my PC design is copyrighted, so I'll apply legal actions against everybody doing it commercially".

I understand that *smithfamily* doing poor job for the kind of money they selling it for - but you can tell the same about a lot of other companies making PCs for instance. That's honestly their problem...

This is my personal opinion and represents my thoughts only.
To avoid arguing - this is my last message in this thread (it's clearly represents my opinion and that's enough for me).

Alex
